THE PROCESS OF RENEWAL OF LICENSE FOR RPms

1.     Collate all your certificates from workshops, training, conferences or conventions attended especially those certificates that came from Psychological Association of the Philippines.

2.   Send an e-mail to the Psychological Association of the Philippines (pap_1962_08@yahoo.com) to ask for the PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (PAP) LICENSURE RENEWAL FORM and GUIDELINES FOR RENEWAL.

3.      Arrange all of your certificates in a clear folder and use the following labels:
a.      Educational Background
b.      Employment
c.      Seminar/Conferences/Conventions
d.      Training
e.      Resource Person (if any)
f.       Certificate of membership from International and Local Organizations
g.      Published works (if any)

Note: Please fill in the form and do not forget to bring all the necessary requirements before you drop by to their office, please look for Ms. Mercy or Ms. Linda.

4.    Proceed to PAP office at Room 208, Second Floor, Philippine Social Science Center Diliman, Quezon City. They will evaluate your requirements. You need to earn 45 CPD points (continuing professional development). It took me 15 minutes to get my certificate of good standing.

5.      Your certificate of good standing is a requirement for your license renewal. By this time, you need to have an online appointment in PRC. Here’s the link: https://www.prc-online.com/

6.      Fill in all the necessary information and upload your picture. Choose the available date online and make sure to pay within 24 hours. When you register online, you will see the payment options. I chose to pay thru BDO over-the-counter transaction, 545 pesos.

7.      Print the claiming stub found on your PRC online account. It looks like this:

8.      Proceed to 4th-floor Annex for your license renewal. They will only get the printed application for the professional identification card that can be found on your PRC online account, your old license and certificate of good standing from PAP. It was fast and the officials were accommodating. It took me one and a half hours to get my license. I suggest that you might want to bring a book or listen to your favorite playlist while waiting.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1.      HOW ABOUT CPE TO CPD?

Last time I earned, 40 CPE points when I attended the PAP convention in Cebu City. The evaluator counted my 40 CPE points as CPD points. Yes, CPE and CPD as of this moment are the same/same weight.

2.      WHAT IF I DIDN’T RENEW MY LICENSE ON MY BIRTH DATE?

Relax, you can still renew your license. You will just have to pay 30 pesos for every month of delay.

3.      DO I NEED TO HAVE AT LEAST 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS TO GET MY PAP WITH GOOD STANDING CERTIFICATE?

Yes. I passed the board exam last 2014 and started to be a member in 2015. Apparently, I lack one-year membership. So to settle it, I just paid for 2014 membership to have my certificate. According to the guidelines, we should be part of the PAP once we acquired the license. P1,000.00 for membership by the way.
