THINKING ABOUT THINGS

Day by day, I am trying my best to build good habits and to throw the bad habits. It is really difficult than I expected. I tried to conduct self-knowledge test on myself and found out that I possess characteristics that may hamper the ability to prosper. Thus, I have to build discipline and foundations. I hope to fulfill it.

HOW I SPENT MY HOLIDAY

I am with my loved ones. We ate a lot, watched morbid films, and took some rest.

On this day, I bought my travel bag in preparation for my summer travel/lecture travel. I also had my new haircut and I am still not used to it. It's kind of different.  Well, this year will be different, that's for sure. It will be a blast and positively wild year! :D

MY HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY

I am grateful for this year. A lot of things happened to me that I never thought will happen for only about two months. Great things happen when you least expect it while working on it. :)

I am so happy that I spent my special day with my loved ones, and this year was more special. Madel baked my birthday cake. :D She even cooked our food. I think this is more important. I am not looking for material things, I am more happy with the effort, time, and love. :) I am really fortunate to have her in my life.
She is always there for me even if I don't ask her to stay with me. She didn't give up when I am weak instead she embraced me with her care and love. She picked up every little piece of me and restored my hope to believe that I am capable.
She knows the ugliest part of me, the dark side of my being, and the beast that hiding in me. She is not afraid of me, she accepted me for who I am and for what I have become. This proved that she is and will always be, the only person that I will love five ever (5ever). Yes, I am prepared for this. Though our bodies will decay when we died, I already made sure that I know every piece of her even the smell of her skin. So when I am alive again in our next life, I know where to find her. She might be in another body with different features, I know I could still find her. Our souls will be together, I am sure of it.
I am now a year older than before. I hope to get wiser and more patient on things. These are things that I want to accomplish this year:

•To have enough time spent with her and my family. • Get my diploma and become a Master (sounds like Jedi thing). *May 11, 2016, Graduation, woo!* • Be a regular faculty in a university to speed up the time being with her under one roof. • Travel more with her! • Earn more to own our house and car! • Be more confident with myself. • Make a difference in my life, to be better than before. • Learn more! *To read more books than ever* • Establish my youtube channel and new blog for academic purposes. :D • Be an apprentice of finest psychologists in our country. • Help people and contribute something to the minds of individuals. • Be an inspiration. • Stronger heart I will check this list at the end of the year if I accomplish it.

GOTCHA! I SAW SOMETHING ON JB'S VIDEO

Hahaha. I saw on one of the comments that there is a subliminal message pertaining to a sexual thing...So I want to saw it myself. On 1:58 seconds (which took me 6-8 minutes to exactly capture it), I captured this:
Seeing this in a video is like...WTH? Did I really see it? And then, boom!
 Hahaha. It actually exists.
It only validates that there are really some videos in youtube that contain subliminal words such as this which are really difficult to capture because it appears split of a second.

THINKING ABOUT DIVERSITY

Image posted by PsychAlive Page

I removed my facebook app on my android to avoid using this app. My news feed was already filled with negative, bias, and senseless news. I am losing my interest and hope for my country. The society needs to be educated and I, for one, need to spread this awareness about accepting and embracing differences.

I will do this, one at a time. I may not influence all of my students, but at least, I hope I could change one. At least one.

For now, I will improve myself and be productive on my own and I will help those who are only interested.

Thoughts about perseverance of beliefs:

I don't give a damn to those narrow-minded, hypocritical, and self-righteous people but it's too much. Live your lives, and don't mess with us. Don't shove your beliefs down our throats. The world existed billion years ago yet you keep on insisting your thousand-year-old belief. You have to think twice. You keep on saying about the truth yet you never know what truth actually is.

Humans are complex beings and trying to classify humans into simple categories is a form of unawareness about our true nature. You keep on saying things about love and acceptance yet you cannot accept the fact about diversity.

How can some people even say diversity when they only classify us into few categories? How can some people say they know about gender equality when they are only looking at the extremes or promoting heteronormativity? They are cheating the fact of life. They are putting us into a tiny box when there is no box at all.

I respect their beliefs but if they insist it on how to live our lives is pure bulls*it. Again, diversity. I won't respect them if they keep on doing this. You have to earn it from us.

Enough.

Nei deGrasse Tyson says it all in one of his interviews,

"...I find it intriguing that people would ask if you're gay or straight without asking if it's more nuanced than that. I think it's a spectrum. People are usually more comfortable if there are two categories—and that shortchanges the diversity of what it is to be human."
This quote appeared in his interview with www.windycitymediagroup.com

P.S. This is my wall. This is my blog and I have the right to say these things because I had enough. My facebook news feed is full of sh*t and I was silent about my opinion there regarding other issues.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ON A SUNDAY

I just watched the presidential debate for 2016 election. I looked at the polls to determine the dominant candidate. I saw the results.

No, I am not in shock.

I knew how the majority will choose their candidates. I knew it the very first time I clicked the button (deep inside I am hoping to see different results). I guess, I need to refrain from hoping for a change and to hope that others think the way I think (I understand differences). I respect it. Que sera, sera.

Quotes #35

WITH THE FAB CHAIRPERSON

I was at the meeting in PUP Graduate school to meet the newly appointed dean. Luckily, I found my "brother" and fabulous chairperson of College of Social Sciences and Development. He's the only person who can understand me since we both experienced the microaggressions from others. :)

we are part of the rainbow.

I FEEL LOVED FROM MY STUDENTS

After the issue that came up last night (I think), some of my students want to hear my opinion regarding the issue of Manny Pacman's statement. I shared my views and since most of them were trained to see the diversity in people, I received an overwhelming support. I love my students from PUP main, they are very radical. They knew what diversity is and I felt it from them. This kind of felt right. I knew because I felt it was true. Though they have some different views, they still didn't disregard or even dichotomized the multiplicity of human characteristics.

I feel comfortable with these people, it felt good when I'm home and one with my alma mater.

THESIS IN THE MAKING (FOR FINAL DEFENSE)

I'm trying to edit my thesis for final defense and I took some rest.

Quotes #34

DISAPPOINTED WITH STUDENTS

I am a little disappointed today with the results of the grades of my students. Most of them were quiet when they have to answer the question in English. If only I could help them improve their communications skills. :/

I felt like nothing happened or nothing was changed to them. Some still don't understand the subject at all. Am I really that a failure?

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY 2016!

Valentine's day means no diet again. Hahaha. I ate a lot of food today and I am happy that we spent our days together with her family and at night, we went into our home. :)

Vacation, One Day!

It's Paranaque Day which means I got one day relaxation? Nope. I have some hours to relax since I have to do a lot of things. :D

Friday With My Coach

Confuse about life so I talked to my coached. I learned that no matter how old you are, you still need someone to look up to.

I still need a friend older than me who is willing to listen when I have problems. Psychology majors need friends, too. :) I am grateful to have mentors.

Quotes #32

SURPRISE

I thought my day will be just as normal as usual. Something surprised me. I was given another opportunity to lecture somewhere (woohooo!). Today, I was brought to a place where I will be teaching board subject course for Nursing (related to Psychology) and I was also introduced to my future colleagues. I thought I will only visit the place and will meet the manager but I was really surprised that I will be their future lecturer.

But of course, I will prioritize RGO. I will still check my schedule. :p

I think this will be my life, I am forever grateful with surprises like this. I will always do my best! :)

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKED

I just learned that I am excused for the presentation in research colloquium. Hahaha. Today, I was also informed that I have a chance to become an acting psychologist in an orphanage. I will be observed first by the director, if they liked my workshop and my performance with the kids, they will help hire me.

QUOTES #30

I WANT TO BE BETTER THAN BEFORE

I want to change. I want to be better than what I used to be. No one forces me to do it but me. I will take responsible for my actions and tonight, I promise myself that I will be better than myself before.

Habits. This is a word that will help me achieve what I want. Habits are behaviors that are recurrent, is cued by specific context, and often happen without conscious effort and awareness. This is acquired through constant repetitions of our activity. But how do I make a good habit? Decisions. I should decide to make decisions to be a better person. :) Tonight, my life will be better than before.

Sito Longges

Are you interested in habits? Kindly read the book entitled, "Better Than Before" by Gretchen Rubin. She is awesome and will help you psyched up.

Say this to yourself every night before you sleep and
everyday when you wake up.

MOVIE MARATHON

MINDSET AND PASSION

There are two things that will make you succeed based on my observation of successful people:

Mindset and Passion.

Mindset creates discipline, positive attraction, and the power to create your dreams into reality. Passion, on the other hand, is the fuel that will drive you to your present condition to your future successful self. Passion also helps you continue to surpass difficult things and hurdles in life. It is the fire that ignites within you. No matter how hard life can get or walls that will hinder you to achieve what you want in life, passion will push you forward. Passion is love, and love incorporates the will to do things in spite of predicaments.

THE ONLY ETERNAL THING IN THIS WORLD

Even if you think you are still the same person as before, don’t you know that you’ve changed, on a physical level and on a molecular level? Here're some interesting facts from ASAP Science that you can watch! Please watch it until the end, it will only take a little of your time:

Having watched the video, it seemed that there is nothing that seemed to stay as it is forever. Everything will change even if you don’t like it, you will change anyway and that is part of the natural design of the universe. Creatures are neither eternal nor av eternal, we are what we are at the present moment. We will die eventually and others will replace us. But if there is one thing that can last forever or at least for the longest time, it will be the memory of yours that remains to be alive.

This is the least that we can do for ourselves to be alive at least in the hearts of our loved ones and of other people that we touched through our own simple ways and works.

Anyway, when it comes to love life, you do not need to worry about it. There is always someone, somewhere, who will love you and accept you for who you are and for what you are, on a physical level and on a molecular level.

DON'T WASTE TIME, DO SOMETHING

I know, I am not always at my productive phase to do all my paper works and other activities but I ensure that at least, I did something productive on my day.

Small things help finish big things. Do something at least in a day, do not waste time. :) We are given the chance to run our own lives, so we have the power to make a mark. Let us use our time wisely.

I GOT A STATISTICIAN CERTIFICATE FOR MY THESIS AND SURPRISE!

I am super happy with this progress. I could feel that there were pressures on me but that's fine. I want to make my dream come true, I want to get my Master's Degree diploma. :)

I also got a chance to hold a baby today (nephew of my girlfriend) and got an advance gift from her!
Tadaaaaa!
I love this.

Love, Cheesecake That Made My Day and Some Trivia

She made a frozen cheesecake. I love it! :D She's really everything to me because of her cheesecake. :D
I was able to watched a movie with her last night, though I'm busy, I visited her in her house. I am super full with food and desserts. hahaha.

Anyway, I got some interesting trivia about cheesecakes! Here it is:

1. Cheesecakes supposedly originated in ancient Greece and were even served to athletes at the first Olympic Games.
Evidence of early cheesecakes can be traced to the Greek island of Samos as far back as 2,000 B.C., though the oldest existing written recipe is credited to Roman politician Marcus Cato around the first century B.C. This version was also called "placenta" because of its resemblance to . . . you know.
