LET US JUMP THIS NEW YEAR 2015!

There's an interesting myth in Asia, to be particular in Philippines. They say that if you want to increase your height, all you have to do is to jump at exactly 12 midnight of January 1! :)

Yeah, I know, it is crazy! Hahaha. But I believe this is just the way of parents to trick their kids. Parents are only telling it to their kids for fun. You know? It is really fun to jump during new year! It is fun to force yourself way up to the air and shouting "yehey!" and "yipee!"

How do I know this thing? Because I'm a victim when I was a kid. Hahaha. My parents tricked me. I jump so high every new year for this. Hahaha. I don't believe to this idea of jumping to increase my height, neither my friends.

It is really fun. You jump with your family and friends, all of you are shouting "Happy New Year! Woooo!" In fact, I am still doing it not because of the idea of increasing my height but to welcome the year and for fun.

What I learnt about this idea of jumping during new year is not only about joys or fun. I learnt that you have to jump once in a while, to welcome the new chapter of your life. You have to jump because it is thrilling to the heart! You will feel renewed! You will feel the joy. After that leaps and bounds, you'll hear your heart's throb and you will feel the pumped blood all over your body. You will also breathe out your last breath of the year. Breathed out my friend, breathe out. And then breathe in freshly air of another day of your life

Jumping also tells you something...YOU ARE ALIVE! Yes, you are alive! Be thankful for everything that made your year, good or bad memories. Accept everything and just jump! You have to leap for another year of your life! Give your best to jump so high in the air as if it is your last moment. :)

LET US JUMP THIS NEW YEAR! GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT!

The Fault in Our New Year's Resolution

There is nothing bad about setting goals, right? But I saw a lot of people setting goals to only disappoint themselves. What is wrong with new year’s resolution? Or should I say, what is wrong with us when setting new year's resolution?

Here are some things that most of us fail to see in setting and achieving our goals:

Focus on your strong points. We usually want to change bad things about ourselves; we neglect important things like our forte. According to Harvard Psychologist, Amy Cuddy, "you're eliciting in yourself negative emotions. Some negative emotions are motivating, but for the most part, they're not." If you say, "I'm going to stop eating junk food," to use an example, you're denigrating yourself before even getting started. You're better off framing your goal as "eating healthier" so that you'll remain motivated and optimistic.

In short, refrain from stating negative goals. Promote positive statements to evoke positive results!

Focus on process rather than results. We must focus on ways or methods to achieve our goals than the outcomes of our goals. Instead of saying, “I want to earn a lot of money,” say to yourself, “I will save my money, buy only necessary things, and I will meet the deadlines in my work.”

With these statements, you are setting goals that are more realistic and it provides methods or ways to keep your money.

In financial aspect advice, sometimes the reason why we lose money is not because we are not earning enough. Most of the time, we forget how to do proper allocation and we forget ways in saving our money. Most of us tend to spend more than we actually earn! That’s bad! You will eventually enslave yourself with debts. Be practical and be wise.

Try to start creating simple goals. With these, you are creating more realistic and achievable goals. For example, "I want to be thin." Instead of saying "I want to be thin," try to think of simple goals that urges you to become thin or, having a healthier physique.

Examples of Things I Want to Achieve

1. "I will eat healthier food." Jot down a list of possible healthy food that you want to buy in the market or grocery.

2. "I will do exercise." Do not limit your exercise such as sit-ups and running three times a week. You are only trying to pressure yourself with these unbelievable goals.
You will end up only doing more of a lip service than a performer. Stop stating numbers, just do what you want to do and always give your best shot.

But if you are really good at setting specific numbers and beating it because you find it more thrilling, why not? Do things that you are more comfortable but be sure that you will actually do those things. As for me, I am better at doing simple things. Simple goals are like ladders that help me achieve easily the desired level. Simple goals are simple steps, simple steps that will soon help me move on top.

Most of the time, we set absolute, perfect, and unrealistic goals. Make it more realistic in order for you to achieve it. If you set goals that are too high, there is a tendency for you not to achieve it and it will only create anxiety and disappointments.

Be happy with simple accomplishments. These simple accomplishments when combined are BIG. Love simple things and simple activities, sometimes these simple things are actually GREAT things that most of us overlook.

Advance Happy New Year Folks!

Love Mends Fate

My life wouldn’t be great

If you and I didn’t meet

It seems both of us were meant

Realizing lately we were discrete.

It’s been years before

I noticed you and adored

I think Cupid opened the door

That made you my life’s core.

Maybe some says I’m dreaming

For you and I aren’t beseem

But our fate can be vary my dear

If you and I will still be the same.

If broken glass can be mend,

then love can mend our fate.

A Suspicious Old Woman

Old people, old women to be particular, remind me of my grandmother who died in cancer. Whenever I see them, I could not help to think that someday I’ll be one of them, like my grandmother—sagged skin, white hairs, shrunk body and slow motor movements. For this reason, I revere them not because I am hoping that someday young people will do the same like I did. I respect them for they deserved it.

I walked once on a street, noticed a small old lady carrying a heavy bag with her right hand. She carried it with full effort as if her arms would break. I could see in her walk that in any minute she would stop for a while to recover some strength. At that moment, I felt an urge of concern to help the old lady. I came by her side and offered my help. To my surprise, the old lady looked at me with suspicion and I could feel that she distrusted me. She forced herself to carry the bag and put it in front of her chest, embracing her plastic bag as if I would snatch it away from her! With that, I thought that it is of no use if I’ll push myself to help her. I stopped walking, shocked for a moment and just looked at the old lady walking farther away from me. I asked myself then, “Do I have the face of a thief?” (No, I don’t think so).

I am not annoyed with the lady, I just thought that “the world today is beset by swindlers, sycophant, con artist or whatever terms that fool other people just to gain something.” Poor lady, maybe she experienced a situation wherein someone took advantage of her…someone who took everything or some possessions away from her.

I hope people will not take advantage of the weaknesses of others instead they should help build a better society where love, peace, respect and trust are seen.

THAT'S WHY I HATE SUNSET, THAT'S WHY I HATE NIGHT

I love the wonderful morning

Fresh breeze blowin’ and sun comes shinin’

That gives me enough strength

That gives me ample happiness.

But when the sun losing its time to shine,

I always left to be solely

The emptiness invades all of me…

That’s why I hate sunset,

That’s why I hate night.

As darkness fills out my room,

As my heart beats slowly in my chest

Feelings and thoughts of sorrow came crushin’…

That’s why I hate sunset,

That’s why I hate night.

Questions runnin’ in my head

How can I escape the shadows of sadness?

Should I wait for another sunrise?

That’s why I hate sunset,

That’s why I hate night.

My mind thinks of you again

I’m missing you every now and then

As before, I’ll wait for you ‘til morning

Even I hate waiting during the sunset,

Even I hate waiting during the night.

And when you visit me once more

To see each other’s countenances

I will not let you to depart!

For I hate waiting during the sunset,

For I hate waiting during the night.

But as for now my dearest

I will just reminisce the days we were together

As if the time won’t be over

As if you will never leave me once more

As if I will not wait for another day

Even the sunset steals the sunshine,

Even the night filches the day.

Hard Days

Each day seems to be tough

And within me, seems to tear apart

I think it is my heart

That feels a burden inside.

I always hear my heart’s throb

That recently I didn’t perceive

The reason I think now is I’m sad

For I’m apart from someone I love.

Lunacy

Darkness conquers the night.

And this time within me,

My heart screams out loud.

I am chained with wretchedness.

I find myself contemplating,

Of things and moments I missed,

Sit on the bench outside,

I see nihil but blue and black.

I didn’t notice the moon above,

It is moving towards me.

It becomes bigger and bigger,

Nearer and nearer until it stops.

Empathizing my melancholia,

The moon shines so bright.

It reached my eyes,

Surge of bizarre comes in me.

The gargantuan moon is in front of me,

Almost eating the whole of body,

The moon setting pressure in my chest,

I could hardly breathe.

I grasp air amidst of the scene.

I behold of the moon’s circled shape,

But I cannot prolong gazing on it,

For its stolen shine cauterize my eyes.

I touched my bosom,

I can no longer breathe.

I am suffocated.

The sun engulfed my spirit.
